As 2016 draws to a close we took a moment to sit back and look at the year that was at Riverside 24/7 Fitness and what a roller-coaster year it was!

In 2016 Riverside welcomed 2 new members to our team.

Lee who joined our Personal Training team and Sophie who stepped in as our new KidZone career to replace Bree as she moved into full time employment.

We upgraded to the top of the line Hammer Strength Leg Press, got 2 brand new concept 2 E model Rowers and 2 new Kieser Spin bikes as well as added 25kg weight plates to our collection and a brand new Olympic barbell. We became the only Northern Rivers Campus for the Australian Institute of Personal Trainers which gave Todd the opportunity to put his skills into action and train the future faces of our industry.

Introduced Metafit to our class list.

Lost Leanne to an injury and then got Leanne back.

Hosted 2 SOLD OUT screenings of Embrace, The Body Image Movement.

Re-carpeted and painted our class studio.

Lost Peter Roberts as he moved to Darwin and Gained Lauren Woods as our new Exercise Physiologist.

Michell became a qualified Yoga Teacher.

Todd completed his Cert. IV Trainers and Assessors.

Emma completed her 1st year of University studying Exercise Physiology.

Lee took out 1st Place in Australia and 5th in the World on the Muscle Mania Physique Stage. And married our very own Exercise Phys. Lauren! And our AMAZING members Raised $10, 455 for kids cancer! We held 2 Myzone Challenges and as a gym burnt a collective total of 3, 542, 262 calories. That’s the equivalent of 39,800 bananas or 6,487 blocks of chocolate!!! Our prizes included a 2 day Gaia Retreat and Spa Package won by Jen Connors! (We are all SO jealous!), A Stand Up Paddle Board won by Barry Pilley and a 6 Month Gold Membership won by Katrina Clements!

We had 12 different members of the month (you wouldn’t believe it haha) our latest being; SUSAN BRAID Susan is an enthusiastic and cheerful gym member, bringing her positive attitude and infectious smile to every class she attends. She recently played a major role in the organisation of the Great Cycle Challenge Movie Night and Raffles. We could not be prouder of her efforts and are honoured to have her as a Riverside 24/7 Fitness Member! (Enjoy your massage, you deserve it!)

We also had some not so fun times…

We had our roof collapse (due to an ongoing air conditioning fault) and create an indoor swimming pool out of the gym And again, when the storms tore the cladding off the outside of our building!

All in all 2016 was a amazing year for us all here at Riverside and we hope you have all had equally exciting things happen in your lives in 2016!
